Happy National Coffee Day! Here in Birmingham it's still too hot for lattes, so we're celebrating this holiday with a treat for your iced coffee. There's nothing quite as satisfying on these hot and humid days, and I desperately need to make my own batch of cold brew so I quit stopping for coffee on my way to work. Plus, I've got my ice cubes all ready to go, and these ice cubes + cold brew = the perfect iced coffee.
These cubes will keep your iced coffee from getting watered-down, giving you a long-lasting drink that just gets better as you sip. Enjoy them now before the weather gets too chilly!
Coffee Ice Cubes
- 1-2 cups black coffee
Brew a fresh cup of coffee, or use leftover coffee from your morning pot. Pour the coffee into an ice cube tray — 1 cup of coffee will make about 8 cubes.
Freeze the ice cubes overnight or until they are frozen solid.
Fill a glass with the coffee ice cubes, pour in cold-brewed coffee, add your usual dose of cream or sugar, and enjoy! They’d also be great in iced mochas or lattes.
